The new Advanced Level Vocational Training Course in the Development of Multi-platform Application for Video Games from the School of New Interactive Technologies (Escola de Noves Tecnologies Interactives – ENTI-UB) has emerged as a response to the great demand for programmers in the current market. In this sense, it should be noted that this course focuses mainly on video game programming and on digital entertainment. For this reason, the training syllabus for this course includes basic programming instruction in both low level languages (C++ and Java) and high level ones (engines such as Unity and Unreal, among others) for developing both 2D and 3D, based on the optimal use of computer, game console and mobile device hardware.

In the course of the CFGS you will therefore learn how to program video games and applied games in 2D and 3D with all kinds of languages and engines; incorporating the aspects of practicality and actual application at all times, so that you can join the video game, the Serious games and themed entertainment industries with ease. Not for nothing does ENTI-UB have agreements with the major studios and companies in the sector so that you can carry out your 2nd year internships. In addition, at this university you will acquire the skills and tools that will strengthen your entrepreneurship.

Lastly, it should noted that at ENTI-UB, the Video Game University, the most important thing is practical implementation, since this is how you will learn to think, produce and sell your own video game or applied game. Therefore this university centre’s methodology is based on ‘learning by doing‘, consisting of prioritising the project, carrying out the practical work and considering the hackathons or Jams as an educational methodology of the first order.

All in all, once you complete these studies, you will be able to work as a Technician in the development of applications for mobile devices, a Video Game Development Technician, an Applied Game Development Technician or as a specialist in Playtesting (QA), among other positions.
