Introduction
The Degree in Music and Sound Production for the Entertainment Industry provides extensive training in the various aspects which form part of the music and sound production process, both as a creation in itself, as well as in its participation and adaptation to other formats and media (media, video games, advertising, etc.).
The contents encompass both vocational music education, technical training, specific production through different media, and a knowledge of the music industry.
Once the studies are completed the student will obtain an official degree qualification issued by the University of Barcelona, the only one in the field of music production in Catalonia.
The Degree in Music and Sound Production for the Entertainment Industry at ENTI-UB has obtained a favourable verification from the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU in its Catalan acronym).
This degree aims to provide basic comprehensive training to the students, who will learn the different specialties in music production and sound, acquiring knowledge of the entire production process (from music creation to the delivery of the master) and a perfect combination between versatility and creativity when adapting music or sound design to different media, developing their problem-solving ability to deal with any project.
Abilities acquired
With this degree the student obtains the necessary knowledge and tools to create music in different styles and genres, control the technical processes of the production and artistic post-production of sound and music and develop themselves in the professional world being aware of the possibilities that the current industry gives.

The Degree in Music and Sound Production has a teaching body of vocational teachers with experience in the professional world and who are in contact with the industry, bringing great value to the educational experience. Being an official degree, we ensure the thoroughness and quality that mark the regulations of the University of Barcelona.
Students have classrooms equipped with computer equipment, MIDI controllers and specialised software for music production. They also have a 7.4.1 immersive sound system, creating the ideal learning environment facing a growing trend with projections of becoming a new standard in the field of audio, binaural or 3D sound.
The ENTI-UB recording studio features an SSL Matrix2 mixing console and a 5.1 sound system that allows work with surround sound. Production boxes with specific sound materials and a classroom for group work are also available.

How to access the course
To be able to access the Degree in Music and Sound Production for the Entertainment Industry, the requirements for access to a university degree must be met and, in addition, an aptitude test must be taken.
The Personal Aptitude Test necessary to access the Degree in Music Production at ENTI-UB, is a test proving a basic knowledge of music to ensure that all students begin their studies with a sufficient musical base. Enrolment in the PAP will be from 6 to 12 June (inclusive). The PAP will take place on 20 June.
In order to be able to enrol in the Degree, one of the following requirements must be met:
- Hold a baccalaureate qualification and pass the university access test.
- Be a student of a European Union member state, with which Spain has signed an International Agreement.
- Be a student of a foreign country (not part of the European Union) who has applied for the homologation of their qualification with the Spanish baccalaureate qualification.
- Hold the qualification of Senior Technician corresponding to the Professional Training education and Artistic Education or Senior Technician corresponding to the Sports Education referred to in articles 44, 53 and 65 of Organic Law 2/2006, on Education.
- Be over 25 years old, in accordance with the provisions set forth in the additional provision number 25 of Organic Law 2/2001 on Universities.
- Accredit work or professional experience, in accordance with article 42.4 of Organic Law 2/2001, on Universities, in the drafting of Law 4/2007.
- Be over 45 years of age in accordance with article 42.4 of Organic Law 2/2001, on Universities, in the drafting of Law 4/2007.
- Be in possession of a Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Be in possession of an official university qualification holding a University Diploma, Technical Architect, Technical Engineer, Graduate, Architect or Engineer, corresponding to the previous legislation on university degrees.
- Have completed or partly completed foreign university studies which have not obtained homologation in Spain and for students who want to continue studying at a Spanish university. It will be an indispensable requirement for the corresponding university to have recognised that the student has a minimum of 30 credits.
Personal Aptitude Test
The Personal Aptitude Test required to access the Degree in Music Production at ENTI-UB, is a test proving a basic knowledge of music to ensure that all students begin their studies with a sufficient musical base.
Only the students qualified in the Vocational Qualification in Music (Intermediate Level) do not have to perform this test, provided that they give proof of the said qualification.
Course curriculum
Full-time course
During the first year of admission onto a university degree course, the student must enrol for 60 credits.
From the second year of admission onwards, and for first-year students who have previously completed, in full or in part, other official university studies at any university, the student must enrol for between 46 and 60 credits. Exceptionally, and when justified, the head of studies, by express resolution, can authorise an enrolment exceeding 60 credits up to a maximum of 78 credits per academic year.
Part-time course
During the first year of admission onto a university degree course, the student must enrol for 30 credits.
From the second year of admission onwards, and for first-year students who have previously completed, in full or in part, other official university studies at any university the student must enrol for between 18 and 45 credits.
