Introduction
TheDegree in Design, Animation and Digital Art for Video Games and Serious Games enables students to learn how to conceptualise and develop digital art and animation, in both 2D and 3D, for video games, serious games, cinematic and digital content for multiple platforms.
The 3-year version of this degree was the first course available for digital art in video games to obtain the favourable accreditation certificate from the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency. (AQU in its Catalan acronym) The current 4-year degree course has also received favorable accreditation from the AQU (pending this body incorporating the aforementioned degree on its website and issuing the corresponding verification certificate).
This video was made for the 3-year version of the degree, called Artistic Creation for Video Games and Serious Games (CAVJA in its Catalan acronym) and the essential points remain valid for the new 4-year degree in Design, Animation and Digital Art for Video Games and Serious Games (DAADVJA in its Catalan acronym)
The objective of this degree in digital art is to give comprehensive training to future game designers and artists for games on all analogue and digital platforms (board games, computers, smartphones, tablets, consoles, augmented virtual reality, etc.). The artistic field is combined with the one intended mostly for the design of games and memorable experiences.
Abilities acquired
With this degree, students will learn to work as a team using the tools that enable them to create art for games and, therefore, to discover the role they wish to attain within the video game industry. Always from the creation of the project itself and intended as an entrepreneurial potentialfrom the very beginning. All this is taught with a gradual introduction of the English language into the subjects so that the students incorporate themselves into the global market by the end of their studies.
